Chat crowns

A crown is the small badge beside a player's name in chat. It identifies a PrivatePS rank. The pictures below are the same crown sprites used in game.

Crown guide

Crown	Rank	Meaning
Gold	Admin	Senior staff responsible for administration and testing.
Gold	Co-owner	Helps manage the project, with a rank directly below Owner.
Gold	Owner	Runs and directs the PrivatePS project.
Silver	Moderator	Helps players and moderates rule-breaking.
Blue	Supporter	A player with supporter benefits. This badge grants no moderation authority.
No staff crown	Player	An ordinary player. A game-mode icon may still appear beside the name.

Gold crown

Admins, Co-owners and Owners share the same gold crown. Its colour alone does not distinguish these three ranks. Use the displayed rank where available when you need to tell them apart.

Silver crown

The silver crown identifies a Moderator. Moderators help keep chat and play within the rules. For the public moderation-command guide, see Staff commands.

Blue crown

The blue-gem crown identifies a Supporter. Supporter is a player benefit rank; read Supporter perks for its convenience features. It does not make the account a staff member.

Other name icons

Ironman, Hardcore Ironman, Ultimate Ironman and Group Ironman icons identify an account's game mode. They do not give staff powers. A staff member or supporter can also have a game-mode icon.

Public chat shows one name icon at a time, prioritising the rank crown where there is one. Private, friends and welcome messages can show the additional game-mode badge. This is why the same account can have a different-looking set of icons in different places.

Recognising staff and getting help

A word such as “mod” typed into a name or message is not a staff badge. Look for the actual crown and rank information. Staff never need your password or login code.
